RPHE-7391 is an irrversible inhibitor of all the enzymes involved in converting arachidonic acid (AA) to eicosanoinds in the arachidonic acid cascade. In other words, RPHE-7391 is an irreversible inhibitor of COX, LOX and P-450 enzymes and blocks AA from binding to these enzymes, hence stopping the downstream reactions in the AA cascade and formation of the eicosanoids (please see figure 1, below).

As shown in Figure 1 below, AA and eicosanoids play a major role in many different organs of the body and in the pathology of many diseases of those organs, hence RPHE-7391 can be used in treatment of multiple diseases.

Rophe Pharma intends to out-license RPHE-7391 and is in the process of finding companies that might be interested in in-licensing the drug.
